Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.John 3: 14-18 new international version
Our Father, we will never be able to thank you enough for what our Lord Jesus did for us on the cross. He became the ultimate and once-and-for all blood sacrifice, releasing us from the burden of never being able to be ‘good enough’ for salvation through our own works. This none of us could ever accomplish. Jesus suffered and paid for this with his own earthly life.
May we ever be grateful to him for this amazing act of love and, though good works may never gain us admittance into heaven, may we ever seek to grow in the fruit of the Spirit and do good anyway as an example of our Lord’s love and grace.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
