The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
The Lord gives his people strength.
He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.
Save your people!
Bless Israel, your special possession.
Lead them like a shepherd,
and carry them in your arms forever.
Psalm 28: 7-9 New Living Translation
Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds sheltering in the shadow of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. (Psalm 36: 5-9 New Living Translation)
It has been a terrible time during the Coronavirus outbreak. Our hearts are heavy as we try to make sense of the vast number of people who have died and the even greater number of families and friends who are mourning. Please may your Holy Spirit comfort all who are sick and mourn today.
We trust that you are in control, Lord. We have faith that, though we cannot understand, only you can see the bigger picture. Where there is evil, you always bring goodness and glory.
While we may suffer now, help us to steadfastly look forward to better times and lessons learned and, ultimately, to the time when we will be with you eternally.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
