Betrayed by my country. That phrase pretty much describes everything I have been feeling for the last couple of days. Just last week, on Tuesday 20.10.20; the Nigerian government opened fire on her citizens. They were unarmed peaceful protesters who sat on the floor, singing the national anthem and waving the Nigerian flag. They were […]
This post refers to my previous update in which I was being investigated for Lymphoma. I don’t know if the process is similar in other countries, but in the u.k. we receive a copy of any procedure we undergo, and yesterday I got some very welcomed news. Here is an excerpt from the letter:-
“This is just a brief note about this patient. We looked at her scan in our lymphoma MDT. The MDT could not see any suspicion of underlying lymphoma in this patient and they are happy that her lymphadenopathy could be explained by the underlying diagnosis of sarcoidosis, which has been confirmed on the axillary lymph node biopsy. “
It’s a big load off my mind, and for my family. I was fully expecting being told that I had Lymphoma as my brother died in 1995, at the age of 47, with an aggressive form of the disease. So now, I am anticipating word from my consultant that I will only need to undergo the routine monitoring of the Sarcoidosis.
I feel extremely fortunate because there are so many people suffering at the moment. I’m thinking, especially, of those people whose cancer treatment has had to be put on hold because of Covid-19. It’s sad because some are dying because of it, so my happiness at the moment feels bittersweet.
Thank you to all who were praying for me.
I thank You for the grace and goodness You have shown me. Please Lord, strengthen our medical teams who are working on the frontline of the battle against Coronavirus and all those behind the scenes who keep our hospitals sanitised, and administrative staff who are working hard to keep that side of things in order. It’s a massive task. Please let them know that they are appreciated.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
My daughter-in-law, who works in one of the large hospitals in the North of England – one of the many who are fighting hard to keep us alive and well during the Coronavirus outbreak.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
We are so glad that you decided to join us for this week’s ToGather.church. (Find out more.) We invite you to use our home worship guide on your own or with friends, family, home group, or house church. Please know that you are sharing in this time of encouragement, communion, praise, and prayer with people worldwide!
Let’s begin our ToGather.church experience by offering ourselves to God, asking him to reign over our lives, and letting him use his power to bless others through us. We join the Vineyard singers as each of us asks the Lord to “Reign in Me” so that we will each be a blessing to others who need encouragement and a word of grace:
